Carroll Hospital offers a variety of support services to empower cancer patients and their loved ones with knowledge and confidence. Unless otherwise noted below, please call 410-871-7000 for more information or to register for any of these services.

Breast Cancer Support Group
Carroll Hospital hosts a monthly breast cancer support group to help women better understand and manage with the challenges and triumphs associated with the recovery process. The group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Tevis Center for Wellness, 291 Stoner Ave, Westminster.

Cancer Support Group
Carroll Hospital facilitates a support group to provide support and education to men and women with all types of cancer and their caregivers. The group meets the fourth Wednesday of the month (except holidays) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Tevis Center for Wellness, 291 Stoner Ave, Westminster. The group is free and no registration is required. Please call 410-871-7000 for more information.

Complementary Health Services
Carroll Hospital’s Complementary Health Services offers a range of educational programs and therapies— including acupuncture, massage, reiki, reflexology and yoga — to help you care for your mind, body and spirit. Learn more.

Embrace
Embrace is a program for breast cancer survivors who have finished chemotherapy and/or radiation treatment within the last 2 years. It is intended to facilitate continued healing and thriving in survivorship. Receive support and services for a health survivorship. All services are free for breast cancer survivors through a grant provided by Susan G. Komen® Maryland. For more information, call 410-871-7000.

Gina’s Warriors Comfort Fund
Carroll Hospital is offering additional relief and support, through the Gina’s Warriors Comfort Fund, to men and women diagnosed with colon cancer. Established in memory of Gina Maria Barnes, who passed away following a valiant battle with colon cancer, the fund will provide individuals undergoing colon cancer treatment with a range of resources to improve their quality of life—physically, financially and emotionally—in all aspects of their cancer journey.

Services the Gina’s Warriors Comfort Fund support may include massage therapy and acupuncture treatments at the hospital’s Tevis Center for Wellness; gift cards for food, gas and comfort items for patients; the cost of wigs and other cancer-related supplies; and copay and deductible assistance (some restrictions apply).

Patients who are currently being treated for colon cancer and reside or are employed in Carroll County are eligible. Limited funds available; requests are fulfilled in the order in which they are received. Please call 410-871-7119 for more information.

Look Good, Feel Better
Patients who are undergoing chemotherapy can benefit from this free American Cancer Society program, held once a month to help women cope with the appearance-related side effects of their treatment.

Lymphedema Therapy
Lymphedema therapy is offered in partnership with Central Maryland Rehabilitation. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 410-848-4248.

Nutritional Counseling
A registered dietitian who specializes in oncology nutrition, particularly during chemotherapy or radiation, can develop eating plans to help patients strengthen their immune systems and promote recovery. Counseling is available by physician referral only. For more information, call 410-871-7678.

Prostate Cancer Support Group
This American Cancer Society education and support group is designed especially for men diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Resource Libraries
Patients and community members may check out a variety of print and video resources, from the Oncology Unit Resource Center or hospital’s Resource Center to help them stay informed about their condition or take steps to prevent illness. Studio YOU
Studio YOU, a specialty area inside Carroll Hospital’s Wellness Boutique, is stocked with the latest merchandise for women who are experiencing the appearance-related side effects associated with cancer. Choose from a wide selection of high-quality wigs, hats and turbans, as well as, a selection of natural-looking breast forms and mastectomy bras.
