Breast Cancer Support Group
Carroll Hospital hosts a monthly breast cancer support group to help women better understand and manage with the challenges and triumphs associated with the recovery process. The group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Tevis Center for Wellness, 291 Stoner Ave, Westminster.
Gather and Connect Support Group
Carroll Hospital facilitates a support group to provide support and education to men and women with all types of cancer and their caregivers. The group meets the fourth Monday of the month (except holidays) from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Tevis Center for Wellness, 291 Stoner Ave, Westminster. The group is free, and no registration is required. Complementary Health Services

Gina’s Warriors Comfort Fund
Carroll Hospital is offering additional relief and support, through the Gina’s Warriors Comfort Fund, to men and women diagnosed with colon cancer. Established in memory of Gina Maria Barnes, who passed away following a valiant battle with colon cancer, the fund will provide individuals undergoing colon cancer treatment with a range of resources to improve their quality of life—physically, financially and emotionally—in all aspects of their cancer journey.
Services the Gina’s Warriors Comfort Fund support may include massage therapy and acupuncture treatments at Carroll Hospital’s Tevis Center for Wellness; gift cards for food, gas and comfort items for patients; the cost of wigs and other cancer-related supplies; and copay and deductible assistance (some restrictions apply).
Patients who are currently being treated for colon cancer and reside or are employed in Carroll County are eligible. Limited funds available; requests are fulfilled in the order in which they are received. Please call 410-871-7119 for more information.
Look Good, Feel Better
Patients who are undergoing chemotherapy can benefit from this free American Cancer Society program, held once a month to help women cope with the appearance-related side effects of their treatment.
Lymphedema therapy is offered in partnership with Pivot Physical Therapy. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 410-876-5600.
A registered dietitian who specializes in oncology nutrition, particularly during chemotherapy or radiation, can develop eating plans to help patients strengthen their immune systems and promote recovery. Counseling is available by physician referral only. For more information, call 410-871-7678.
Prostate Cancer Support Group
This American Cancer Society education and support group is designed especially for men diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Resource Center Library
Patients and community members may check out a variety of print and video resources at Carroll Hospital’s Resource Center Library, located in the Tevis Center for Wellness. There, you’ll have access to a large variety of books and CDs dealing with hundreds of health-related topics in addition to cancer.
